"NATIONAL PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION"

Education in Malaysia is an on-going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards, and who are responsible and capable of achieving high level of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at large.

"MALAYSIA TEACHING PHILOSOPHY"

The teacher, who is noble in character, progressive, and scientific in outlook, committed to uphold the aspirations of the nation, and cherishes the national cultural heritage, ensure the development of individual and the preservation of the united, democratic and progressive and disciplined society

"THE PHILOSOPHY OF BIOLOGY EDUCATION"

Biology should not be taught as a body of knowledge to be memorized, but more as a way of thinking about and understanding the world. Biology is inherently a creative and exploratory process and lends itself well to applied exercises that are focused on critical thinking once the basics have been implemented. No matter what field a student ultimately winds up in, good collaboration and problem solving skills will be imperative for their success.

"MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY"

Introductory biology should aim to give students back that genuine sense of curiosity and wonder about the natural world and how it works. Student apathy is widespread and often stems from a fear of science for non-majors and a tedious sense of being overwhelmed by mind-numbing, rote fact memorization for majors. Ideally, introductory biology should be useful, entertaining and engaging rather than a monotonous chore or struggle.
